Morancha Vagu is a 45 km long stream that originates from the Bhupalpally Forest Area in Jayashankar Bhupalpally District, Telangana, and eventually joins the Maner River near Kalvapalle.

Morancha Vagu is fed by several small tributaries, which help sustain the local agriculture and villages along its course:
- Medi Vagu: Originates from Ramappa Lake and joins Morancha Vagu near Palampet, Mulugu District.
- Poddaru Vagu: Originates from Ghanapuram Lake and joins Morancha Vagu near Ghanapur, Mulugu District.

July 2023 Floods in Moranchapalli
Heavy Rains and Flooding
On July 26–27, 2023, the Jayashankar Bhupalpally district experienced unprecedented rainfall. Moranchapalli village was severely affected as the Morancha Vagu overflowed.
Impact on the Village
- Population: ~1,900 across 300 houses
- Floodwaters submerged homes, livestock, food, and belongings.
- Villagers had to climb rooftops and trees to escape rising water.
Rescue Operations
- Indian Army and NDRF teams used helicopters and inflatable boats to save villagers.
- 6 people rescued near Nainpaka in a daring operation.
Casualties
- 4 people went missing due to the floods.
- Bodies of 3 villagers were recovered; 1 person remains missing.
District Rainfall Data
Jayashankar Bhupalpally recorded extremely heavy rainfall, with Chityal Mandal receiving 616.5 mm in 24 hours ending 8 a.m. on July 27.
