It was conquered by the Bahmani Sultanate in 1433 AD and subsequently ruled by the Qutb Shahis and Nizams. The sonorous rock formation stretches over 25 kilometres across villages including Bonakollur, Bandnagaram, Katkur, Padamatikesavapur (Siddipet) and Veerannpet, Chunchanakota, Nagapuri, Jangamreddy Palle (Jangoan).
