Telangana has a diverse landscape with 527 named mountains and hills. The highest and most prominent peak in the state is Doli Gutta (965 m / 3166 ft) located in the Venkatapuram Mandal, Mulugu district. Earlier, Pedda Konda (1360 m) in the erstwhile Khammam district was the highest, but after the reorganization of states on 11 July 2014, seven mandals were transferred to Andhra Pradesh for the Polavaram Irrigation Project.
