Polavasa Dynasty (Polasa Chiefs / Lengonda Dynasty) Brief Introduction: The Polavasa Dynasty (1076 - 1160 A.D.) was a prominent medieval power in Telangana. They were subordinates of the Western Chalukyas who later revolted to assert independence in the early 12th century. Key Historical Significance: Descendants of the Rashtrakutas , they ruled the territories immediately north of the Kakatiyas. The city was named after Syed Karimuddin, who is thought to be its founder.
