History – A New Eco-Tourism Destination for Hyderabad (2022–2026)

HMDA's Eco-Tourism Initiative: Kothwalguda Eco Park was conceived as part of efforts to develop eco-tourism and recreational facilities around Hyderabad's outskirts. The foundation stone for the project was laid by K. T. Rama Rao on 11 October 2022. The original project proposal covered a broader 125-acre development concept, including approximately 85 acres of HMDA land and additional land associated with the Tourism Department. The completed park inaugurated in 2026 was reported as an approximately 85-acre development.

Development and Opening: The park was developed by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) at an estimated cost of approximately ₹75 crore. It was inaugurated on 6 March 2026 by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy as part of the state's wider development and eco-tourism initiatives.
