History – A New Lakeside Park for Hyderabad (2022)
HMDA's Landscape Initiative: Gandipet Eco Park was developed by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) as part of efforts to improve recreational and green spaces around Hyderabad's lakes and reservoirs. The project was also associated with the centenary period of Osman Sagar, the reservoir completed in 1920. The park was inaugurated on 11 October 2022 by Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K. T. Rama Rao. The project cost approximately ₹35.6 crore and covers about 18 acres on the embankment of Gandipet Reservoir.
