Yadadri Tirumala Devasthanam – A 12-Foot Balaji, 40-Foot Hanuman & India's 2nd Largest Bell

📍 Swarnagiri Sree Venkateswara Swamy Devasthanam (also known as Yadadri Tirumala Devasthanam or Swarnagiri Temple) is a magnificent new Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy, located atop the picturesque Manepally Hills in Bhuvanagiri (Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district), Telangana, India. Approximately 47-50 km from Hyderabad and 20 km from the famous Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Yadadri, this architectural marvel was consecrated on 6 March 2024 by Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swami and is quickly becoming one of Telangana's most visited spiritual destinations. The temple is built on 22 acres of land donated by the Manepally family, who envisioned this temple as a gesture of thanksgiving for a miraculous recovery.

Telangana's Newest Spiritual Landmark: Perched atop the scenic Swarnagiri (Golden Hill) in Bhuvanagiri, the Swarnagiri Temple has emerged as a captivating new destination for devotees seeking the blessings of Lord Venkateswara without the long journey to Tirumala. Opened to devotees in March 2024, this temple is being hailed as "one of the largest Balaji temples in South India" [citation:1]. The name "Swarnagiri" (Golden Hill) reflects the ethereal charm of the location, especially when the temple is illuminated at night.

Built over seven years at a cost borne by the Manepally family, the temple blends the architectural styles of Pallava, Vijayanagara, Chola, and Chalukya dynasties [citation:5]. As you ascend the 108 steps to the temple, you are greeted by four majestic Rajagopurams, leading to spacious mandapams and a five-storied Vimana Gopuram atop the sanctum sanctorum.

📜 The Miracle – A Family's Thanksgiving

🙏 A Promise Fulfilled: The temple owes its existence to a miracle. In 2016, Vijayalakshmi, wife of Manepally Rama Rao, suffered a severe mishap in an escalator, breaking her bones and slipping into a coma. Doctors had given up hope. However, it was the holy water (tirtham) from Tirupati that someone brought to her that brought her back to life. As a gesture of thanksgiving and to celebrate the miracle, the Manepally family decided to use their 22-acre land on the hilltop to build this magnificent temple. It took over seven years to bring the vision to life [citation:8].

🏛️ Architectural Marvel – A Fusion of Four Dynasties

🎨 Pallava, Vijayanagara, Chola & Chalukya Styles: The temple was constructed following architectural styles of Pallava, Vijayanagara, Chola, and Chalukya dynasties [citation:1][citation:5]. The temple will follow the traditions of Sri Pancharatra Agama and Tennacharya Sampradayam [citation:5].

Key Architectural Features:

  • Four Rajagopurams – Adorning the four sides of the temple wall, leading to spacious mandapams [citation:1][citation:5]
