Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium , commonly known as Uppal Stadium , is a world-class international cricket stadium located in the Uppal suburb of Hyderabad , Telangana, India. Owned and operated by the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) , the stadium was established in 2003 to replace the older Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium. Spread across 15-16 acres of land , it serves as the home ground for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (IPL) , the Hyderabad cricket team , and the Hyderabad women's cricket team .
