The fort complex spans 19 kilometers between Warangal and Hanamkonda. It was the capital of the Kakatiya Dynasty (c. 1170–1323 CE) and is renowned for its four Keerthi Thoranas , triple fortification system, and innovative sandbox foundation . The site is on the UNESCO Tentative List.
