Bhadrakali Lake is a historic man‑made lake located in the heart of Hanamkonda, Warangal, Telangana . Built in the 12th century by Ganapati Deva of the Kakatiya dynasty , the lake spans approximately 382 acres and is situated adjacent to the famous Bhadrakali Temple , one of the oldest temples dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali. Bhadrakali Temple is a significant Devi temple located on a hilltop between the twin cities of Hanamkonda and Warangal in Telangana . The temple is held in high esteem by devotees of Goddess Bhadrakali, popularly called the 'Grant Mother Goddess' . Built in 625 AD by Chalukya King Pulakesi II , the temple features a square-shaped stone image of the goddess (2.7 x 2.7 metres) with eight hands holding various weapons .
